H.E.A.R.T offers American Heart Association ACLS training to medical professionals throughout the Northeastern Ohio region. These classes utilize the 2005 ECC Guidelines. We specialize in on-site programs, tailored to the facility or speciaity group involved (i.e. nurses, dentists, doctors, paramedics, fire departments, or specialty groups, etc.)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support training involves an intensive, 16 hour (Initial Provider) or 8 hour (Refresher) curriculum including the skills of; manual and AED defibrillation and pacing, I.V. cardiac drug administration and dosing, endotracheal intubation, use of other airway adjunctive equipment, and current trends in ACLS doctrine. A 33-question multiple-choice test and team-skills evaluation is required for successful completion of this course. Participants who successfully complete this course will receive an American Heart Association ACLS completion card, with a suggested renewal date of 2 years from the date of issuance. Courses are open to doctors, dentists, RN's, LPN's, Paramedics, and other allied health personnel directly involved in the care of cardiac patients..
The class is not intended for persons with no EKG or cardiac drug knowledge or experience. It is an intense course, involving pre-study, and a working knowledge or lethal arrhythmias and cardiac physiology. We STRONGLY recommend new students take a basic EKG or pharmacology class prior to enrollment.
